Connecting your Spark
It's five clicks. But check one thing first.
Lobby Reports reads your data through a Spark API key — a code Spark generates that lets one outside tool see your contacts. You make it yourself, you choose what it can see, and you can switch it off any time.
Log in to Spark, open Settings, and look for API in the menu. If it's there, you're good — subscribe and come back to this page.
If it isn't, API access is either not included in your Spark plan or not enabled for your role. Ask whoever administers your Spark, or email support@spark.re and ask "does our plan include API access?" — message us and we'll help you sort it out before you pay for anything.
Making the key
- Settings → APIIn Spark, top right, then API in the settings menu.
- Click + Generate KeyYou can have as many keys as you like. Make a new one for this rather than reusing one.
- Name it "Lobby Reports"So you can tell it apart later, and switch it off on its own if you ever want to.
- Turn on Contacts. Choose Read.Leave Write off. That's the part that makes "it never changes anything in your CRM" true on your side, not just ours — the key physically can't write. If you see other toggles like ratings or registration sources, turn those on as read too. Skip anything about posting contacts, follow-up schedules or auto-replies — those are for tools that create leads, and we don't.
- Copy the key and paste it in the appAfter you subscribe, the app asks for it on one screen and checks it against Spark on the spot. It's stored encrypted; it's never emailed anywhere.
What we do with it
We use it once a night to pull a read-only copy of your contacts into a database that only your building can see. It's stored encrypted. It never goes to anyone else, and if you cancel, we delete it.
Want it gone sooner? Deactivate the key in Spark under Settings → API and we lose access instantly — you don't need to ask us.
